The IFJA 

The International Freestyle Judo Alliance is bringing back the 'Golden Age' of Judo competition by embracing the fighting arts of Wrestling, Sambo and Modern Jiu-Jitsu! 


Freestyle Judo Alliance is open to any organization that promotes "Judo the way it ought to be!" Freestyle Judo relies on organizations to run and sanction events and is free for anyone to join. The rules of Freestyle Judo make it the ideal sport for all grappling athletes to compete because it encourages techniques from Wrestling, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu and Sambo.

The Judo Black Belt Association is the official Yudanshakai of the IFJA. The Official Freestyle Judo Rule Book is included in the lifetime membership fee of $50.

 SAMBO is a martial art and combat sport developed and used by the Soviet Red Army in the early 1920s to improve their hand-to-hand combat abilities. All FIAS Documents including full Combat Sambo Rules can be found at: https://sambo.sport/en/fias/documents/ *Some adjustments have been made below to the FIAS rules concerning uniform policy concerning athletes being able to substitute white gi jackets in leu of  the standard red or blue sambo jacket.
