Earning Rank

 RANK

Although sport and combat Sambo do not utilize a rank system to determine competence.  Self-defense programs benefit from traditional belt promotion programs.  Belt promotion certificates and guidelines are available through our partner: Sila Voli Instructors Alliance.

Rank Through Sila Voli
For Traditional Gi Programs we recommend IFJA rank guidelines
Rank hierarchy of belts: GREEN, BLUE, BROWN, and BLACK

Former wrestlers and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes generally come in at the rank of blue belt after a brief assessment, but MUST complete a minimum 3 years at brown belt before promotion.

Verifiable Sila Voli black belt rank is issued through the Sila Voli Alliance's official rank partner the ICMAUA.  We never charge for any rank promotion.
